We are so grateful to announce that Loy Yang B have funded our Crisis Case service again this year through a Community Partnership Grant!

Recent AIHW data has shown 5494 children were admitted to care and protection orders in Victoria in 2019-20. 72% of these were admitted for the first time. In total, 10 children in every 1000 in Victoria were on care and protection orders (14,947 children across Victoria).

As the need for Crisis Cases increases, Loy Yang B have again stepped up to help us provide dignity and care to children entering out of home care, and ensure their carers are supported, through providing for 70 Crisis Cases.

Loy Yang B have been an amazing source of support for our charity, providing funding for our Crisis Cases in 2020, and sent volunteers and provided emergency financial assistance to help us remove spoiled stock and salvage usable items when our rooms at the Sale Memorial Hall were flooded earlier this year. We are very grateful to have them as partners, and as such strong contributors to our community in the Gippsland region.

“A Better Life for Foster Kids is a cause which really resonates with us,” said Nicole Boksma, Communications Coordinator at Loy Yang B, “The thought that some kids are entering out of home care with nothing but the clothes on their back is heartbreaking. The kids receive a new suitcase full of essential items which they can call their own, giving them the sense of belonging and dignity they deserve at what must be a scary and distressing time for them. We’re proud to continue our support for this fantastic volunteer group which helps kids and their carers in times of need, and we thank them for their amazing work.”
