Request Support

Need a hand? We’re here to help

Because carers should never have to do it alone.

Request Support

At A Better Life For Foster Kids, we know the heart it takes to step up and care for a child who’s been through more than most. Whether it’s your first placement or your fifteenth, no one should be expected to shoulder it all without backup.
This page is here to make it easy for foster and kinship carers to request the support they need, when they need it most.
If you are a carer or a caseworker supporting a carer, use the forms below to request assistance.

Request A Crisis Case

What’s in a Crisis Case?
Each Crisis Case contains around 55 essential items tailored to the child’s age,  including clothing, toiletries, baby items, a blanket, activity books, and a handmade comfort toy.

Most items are brand new or lightly used and always age-appropriate. Each case is valued at approximately $375 and is designed to support a child through their first week in care.

Who Can Request a Crisis Case?
Crisis Cases can be requested by foster and kinship carers, as well as agencies and government departments supporting children in out-of-home care. If you’re local to Sale, you’re welcome to visit our rooms at the Memorial Hall to collect items in person.

While we primarily serve Gippsland and Melbourne’s outer east, we regularly support carers across Victoria and can supply multiple cases to agencies when needed.

Other's Do Care Fund

Are you a foster or kinship carer wanting to help a child thrive beyond the basics?

Through our Others Do Care Fund, carers can apply for flexible support to give children in care access to meaningful activities, music lessons, sporting trips, arts programs, tutoring, or even a gym membership, without stretching your own budget.

With Victoria’s foster carer payments the lowest in the nation, everyday experiences can feel out of reach, but this fund ensures that each child gets the chance to grow, be heard, and feel seen.

Applying is simple; just complete the online form or reach out to our team. Let us help you help a child shine because others truly do care.

Because those who care, deserve care too.
