At A Better Life For Foster Kids, we believe no child should ever enter care feeling forgotten. Every child deserves the essentials: clean clothes, a warm bed, a comforting toy, and the sense that someone, somewhere, cares about them.
Your donation helps us provide immediate, practical support to children entering care, young people transitioning out of care, and the dedicated carers who welcome them into their homes.

Every year, over 5,000 children enter care in Victoria, many without so much as a backpack.
At A Better Life For Foster Kids, we deliver around 1,600 Crisis Cases annually, and the need keeps growing.
With your regular weekly donation, no matter how small, we can:

- Provide comfort and dignity to children in crisis

Gift cards are incredibly helpful, they allow us to respond to specific needs quickly and thoughtfully. Whether it’s a new pair of shoes, school supplies, or something a child can choose for themselves, gift cards give freedom, dignity, and a little spark of joy.

Donate Items
We are always in need of quality items that bring comfort and practicality to children entering care and the carers who support them.
Items We Currently Need:
These items help us pack Crisis Cases for children entering care:
- New or gently-used baby and children’s clothing (sizes newborn–17 years)
- New underwear and socks (all ages)
- Baby essentials: nappies, wipes, bibs, new bottles, wraps
- Toiletries: toothbrushes, toothpaste, hairbrushes, hair ties, face washers, deodorant, toiletry bags
- New water bottles
- Handmade items: knitted blankets, toys, face washers
- Brand new toys (please note: we are no longer able to accept second-hand toys)
Furniture & Household Equipment
These items are used to support new placements and furnish homes for young people leaving care or families recovering from family violence:
- Beds (including cots and children’s beds)
- Baby gear: prams, highchairs, change tables, car seats
- Household furniture: wardrobes, dining tables, sofas, desks
- Appliances & electronics
- Bedding: new or excellent-condition sheets, doonas, pillows, and blankets
- Please ensure second-hand items are clean, in good condition, and safe for use.
