Get Involved
There’s nothing quite like the magic of Christmas, but for many children in foster and kinship care, it can be a time of uncertainty, loneliness, or being away from family. At A Better Life For Foster Kids, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and included, especially during the holidays. By hosting a Giving Tree, your workplace or community group can help bring a little joy and comfort to a child who needs it most.
Hosting a Giving Tree is a simple and powerful way to give back this festive season.
Set up a Christmas tree in your workplace, school, or organisation, somewhere visible to staff, clients, or customers. Then, invite your community to get involved by donating a new, unwrapped gift to place under the tree.
All gifts collected will be distributed to local children living in foster and kinship care, helping make their Christmas just a little bit brighter.
Example gifts include:
🎁 Dolls, trucks or LEGO
🎁 Books, puzzles or art supplies
🎁 Sports balls, headphones or toiletry packs for teens
It’s a beautiful way to spread kindness, connect with your community, and show children in care that they are seen, supported, and not forgotten at Christmas.
Want to donate but not host a tree?
Find a local business or organisation near you that’s hosting a Giving Tree, and simply drop off a new, unwrapped gift. Every donation goes directly to a child in foster or kinship care who may otherwise miss out at Christmas.
We’ll be sharing a list of participating locations soon, stay tuned!
