A Better Life For Foster Kids’ sorting and packing rooms at the Sale Memorial Hall have been flooded during the heavy rains at the end of March, and are not able to accept any clothing or other in-kind donations at this time 😢😢.

There is a lot of damage and it will take a lot of hard work to get everything sorted. Needless to say this has been devastating, but luckily we lost far fewer of the beautiful donated items than we thought, as many were just water damaged.

An amazing response was had from the community – we have so many people laundering our water damaged items to save all of our lovely donated things! One of our funders, Loy Yang B has been an incredible support, paying for a skip and to send some of their workers to help us clear out the wet stock and furniture.

Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts!

Heather and the team are still hard at work cleaning out our flooded rooms and sorting damaged goods from ones we can keep.

We will be relocating our operations to another premises while the roof gets fixed.

While we can’t currently accept donated goods (we’ll let you know when we can), if you would still like to help and are financially able, you can donate funds through our online donation portal to help us out with the additional costs of the next few months!

Thank you!
